Women in Business Luncheon
Becoming Legendary by Kathleen Alder, Providence City Mayor & Cache Valley Chamber Woman of the Year
November 11, 2026
Event Description
______________________________________________________________________
The 2026 Women in Business Inspired Series is a yearlong luncheon experience, powered by the Cache Valley Chamber, designed to spark inspiration and momentum for women professionals. Through engaging presentations from Utah’s leading women, meaningful peer connections, and curated networking over catered lunches, participants gain fresh perspective, renewed confidence, and motivation to think bigger about what is possible in their careers, leadership, and lives.
What does it take to become legendary? Kathleen Alder will take us on a powerful journey through the moments, choices, and people that have shaped her life and leadership. Drawing from her experiences in business, media, public service, and advocacy for women, Kathleen will explore what it means to step boldly into your purpose, turn challenges into opportunities, and create an impact that outlives you. Through personal stories and hard-earned lessons, she will challenge us to think bigger about the mark we want to leave and inspire us to become the kind of leaders whose courage, influence, and impact are remembered long after we are gone.

About the presenter
Kathleen Alder is the Mayor of Providence, Utah, recently re-elected unopposed, and a longtime leader in business, media, public service, and community advocacy. A former technology executive and longtime KSL Studio 5 contributor, Kathleen has built a career around leadership, communication, and creating opportunities for others. She has been a champion for women for more than four decades, beginning in the 1980s when she established the Women’s Resource Center at the Ogden-Weber Applied Technology Center. She later chaired the McKay-Dee Hospital Women’s Center Board and taught “Positive Potential” to women in correctional centers and retirement homes, helping women from a wide range of circumstances recognize their strengths and potential.
In Cache Valley, Kathleen continues to combine professional leadership with a deep commitment to families and community. As Mayor, she has been instrumental in bringing high-speed fiber internet to every home in Providence, supporting families, businesses, and professionals who rely on connectivity. She has advocated for National Diaper Need Awareness and support for mothers in crisis, and serves on the Cache County Library Board, reflecting her longstanding interest in literacy and education. Kathleen also chairs the Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization and manages 180 acres of farmland. Across each of these roles, she brings practical executive experience, an ability to bring people together, and a commitment to strengthening the community for generations to come.
