The 2025 Women in Business Thrive Series is a transformative 12-month program, powered by the Cache Valley Chamber, designed to expand and accelerate women's potential. Through high-impact presentations from Utah's top women leaders, focused networking opportunities, and catered lunches, participants will gain the skills and confidence to achieve their goals. Join us as we empower women to lead, innovate, and inspire.

This transformative workshop will inspire women to elevate their career aspirations by exploring the profound impact of neuroscience-backed manifestation, self-trust, and strategic goal-setting. Participants will learn how to align their thoughts, emotions, and actions to achieve meaningful career milestones. By aiming higher and identifying key objectives, attendees will gain practical tools to shape a career path that opens doors to new opportunities, greater fulfillment, and positive influence in both their professional and personal lives.

About the presenter



Liz Owens, Chief Executive Officer, YWCA Utah

 

Liz Owens has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Utah since April 2020. With deep dedication to gender and racial justice, Liz previously led the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA) and has spent her career advocating for the most vulnerable in society. Her expertise in domestic violence and trauma is rooted in a sincere desire to uplift individuals and families, always approaching her work with a deep understanding of the intersecting dimensions of identity. Liz is honored to be part of efforts that make meaningful change in the lives of survivors and communities, and she remains committed to creating spaces of healing and empowerment. 

 

In addition to her leadership, Liz has taught sociology, social inequality, and program planning at Utah Valley University, Salt Lake Community College, and Westminster College, where she encouraged students to engage with critical issues in society. Her career includes work at Women in Prison (London, UK), the Utah Pride Center, and the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition, among others. Liz is grateful to have served on many boards and to volunteer in the community alongside those who share her passion for justice. 

 

A native of Provo, Utah, Liz earned her Bachelor of Science at Utah Valley University and a Master of Arts in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. She was privileged to be a visiting research fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science and continues to be a sought-after presenter and instructor. 

 

Liz's leadership and impact have earned her numerous accolades, including the 2014 Utah Valley University Faculty Excellence Award, the 2019 Utah Business 30 Women to Watch, the 2022 Zion's Bank Women's Leadership Award, the 2023 Utah Business Women of the Year, the 2024 NAACP Salt Lake City Rosa Parks Award, the 2024 Utah 40 Over 40, and the 2024 Salt Lake Chamber Women's Business Pathfinder Award. These honors reflect her unwavering dedication to advancing equity, empowering women, and creating meaningful change in her community.

Women In Business (WIB) is a program of the Cache Valley Chamber which elevates professional women with knowledge, connections and resources needed to navigate challenges and achieve success in the workplace. Monthly luncheons and fundraising efforts are overseen by a committee of volunteers who are passionate about supporting women through quality professional development, networking, and scholarships.
