DESCRIPTION:Being a Woman Mayor\n\n\n\nAccording to the Women's Leadership Institute about 17 percent of Utah cities have a female mayor. Equal representation is important and women should not be comfortable with only playing a supporting role. We are lucky to have a woman mayor for Logan City.\n\n \n\nJoin a special collaborative luncheon with the Women's Council of Realtors as we hear Mayor Holly Daines who will share her experience with running and winning two terms\, so far\, and her experience serving as the mayor of Cache Valley's largest city. Buy additional raffle tickets for your chance to take home a prize. 100% of ticket sales fund scholarships for local women.\n\n \n\nAbout the presenter\n\n\n\nMayor Holly Daines\n\n \n\nHolly Hubbard Daines was elected Mayor of Logan in November 2017. Prior to that she served on the Municipal Council for eight years. Her current focus as Mayor is downtown development and infrastructure upgrades.\n\n \n\nDuring her time as a Logan City Council member\, she served on boards of the Downtown Alliance\, chair of the Cache County Trails Committee\, and on a number of city committees including Economic Development\, Water & Sewer\, Parks & Recreation\, Library and the Audit Committee.\n\n \n\nHolly grew up in Cache Valley\, graduated from Utah State University and received a graduate degree in Arts Administration from the University of Utah. She worked for arts organizations in Salt Lake and New York City\, returning to Logan with her husband Peter in 1989.
