Sula is the story of two black heroines from their close-knit childhood in a small Ohio town, through their sharply divergent paths of womanhood, to their ultimate confrontation and reconciliation. Iris pairs the late documentarian Albert Maysles with Iris Apfel, the quick-witted, flamboyantly dressed 93-year-old style maven who has had an outsized presence on the New York fashion scene for decades. A singular woman whose enthusiasm for fashion, art and people sustain her, Iris reminds us that dressing — and indeed, life — is nothing but a grand experiment.
This box is a collaborative project between KUED and Better Days 2020.
