9:15 - 10:00 am - "Women's Manifesto" - Dr. Taira Koybaeva (bio)
"As James Brown famously sang, “it is a man’s world.” The business world historically was built by men, for men. This is demonstrated from communication systems all the way to how hotel rooms are set up. Have you ever noticed that there are often only electric shaver outlets in front of the mirror? So what is the big deal? Here it is: when a woman enters the business world, she does not see herself reflected in it. Naturally, she starts emulating existing role models, i.e. men. While doing this she allows her natural power to be obliterated and becomes "a poor man’s copy” of a professional. So what do we, women, do? In this talk you will learn:
-
The Imitation Game: How we unconsciously imitate men and therefore deny our essential power
-
Feminine Power: The strength of being a woman and how to apply it in business
-
Hear me Roar: Capitalizing on your strengths as a woman in the professional world"
10:00 - 10:45 - Break Out Session 1
-
Anne Marie Wallace, Executive Director of Women's Business Center Utah - "Online Training"
Women Rock Business: How to Grow or Start Your own Small Business
Did you know that Utah women run better businesses than women in other states? Although you could be good at it, have you ever felt like you needed someone to say “You can do this!”? The truth is you can and there are a lot of tools, resources and support to help you every step of the way. In this session you will learn what it takes to get your business moving and how to find free and low cost resources for women just like you.
- Lisa Roberts, Sage Functional Medicine - "Women's Health" I am an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, dual board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner & Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. I stepped out of assembly line medicine, seeing 30 patients a day, and opened my own “Ideal Medical Practice”. I have advance training from the Institute of Functional Medicine, which focuses on getting to the root of the problem versus treating symptoms. My talk today will be about re-thinking your approach to health & vitality. Do you take all the latest and greatest supplements in an effort to “feel good” or regain that energy you once had only to still wake up feeling tired or suffering that mid-day slump? Do you take care of one injury or illness only to have another problem present itself? Struggle with that 5 or 10lb weight gain? Do you wonder if Bio-Identical Hormones are for you? You will learn about a different approach to health and the impact of the gut bacteria on our health. Also, strategies to help you sneeze and giggle without fear! Get back on the trampoline! It will be a jammed pack talk!

Liz Butcher, Founder of Butchers Bunches Handcrafted Preserves - "Thinking Outside the Jar: Establishing a Business in a World That is Built Against Your Mold." I am first and foremost a mom and a wife. I am an outspoken supporter of human rights; the right to choose your own path, to make your own way and absolutely love that path when all is said and done. Your first career choice and your final path are often not the same one, but the only thing that matters is your happiness.
I have been a paralegal, an accounting assistant, a manager at Taco Bell & Kinkos, a recruiting assistant for sports teams on a national level, a MLM salesperson of passion products, Tupperware, essential oils, and even cheap jewelry; If it is made, I have at one time attempted to have a party and sell it. What I have found is that I love to be with people, through any sort of interface. And I love to find creative ways to make money. -
Jeannine Groll, Owner of Got Health - "Staying Fit While Working" My name is Jeannine Groll, owner of Got Health? and Groll Family Fitness in Preston, Idaho. I am also a Certified Health Coach, Registered Dietitian, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Before Take Shape for Life, I taught people to be healthy but didn’t always follow healthy habits myself. I often skipped meals in my busy day and felt tired. With the program, I fuel my body better, practice the habits of health, and feel great! My goal is to help you optimize your health and help you feel as good as I do!
